Lady Marmalade: A Seeing Squares color option!
I’ve been playing around in the last month or so with some color options for Seeing Squares. Making it up in several “virtual quilts” in solids from Robert Kaufman Kona, Moda Bella and Free Spirit Designer solids. Today I am sharing a version made from Kona Cotton Solids! The colors for this specific color option were were picked by Tammy, who owns Marmalade Fabrics. I know Tammy through the KC Modern Quilt Guild. She’s a spunky and fun lady and I enjoyed getting to hang out with her at Market. Just wait’ll you see what she bought for her store! She’s got a great online store, where I recently snagged some of the Viewfinder print from Ruby Star Rising. (Psst! There’s a tiny bit left of the multi-color! Hurry!)
Tammy carries my patterns and created this set of fabrics in a very Marmalade-like citrus palette. Here’s what the quilt would look like!
Fun, huh? I think it’s got spunk! We decided to call it “Lady Marmalade.” Tammy has kits listed for both the small (48″ x 56″) and the large (60″ x 84″) quilt. Not only has Tammy made the kit with the pattern and fabric for the top, but she ALSO includes the backing and the binding fabric in the kit. What a gal! Ready, set, shop!
But that’s not all! If you aren’t in a citrus-y, Lady Marmalade mood, perhaps you’d like the Ocean Views color scheme? Tammy carries those colors, too!
(you’ll need 2/3 yard each for the small and 1 1/4 yard each for the large)
Set on the colors used in the cover quilt? She’s got that, TOO! You’ll want the magical combination of 1 1/4 yard each of: Bahama Blue, Caribbean, Cactus (though in the photo on the cover it looks more like Spearmint!), Lagoon, Cyan, Chartreuse and 2/3 yard each of Papaya, Orange, White and Lime.
Have you seen Tammy’s blog post about the Lady Marmalade kit? She’s got the song from Moulin Rouge stuck in my head… and now I hope you do, too!

I just wanted to say that I have adored this pattern since it came out and I finally picked it up the other day. I am going to make my first solids only quilt using it!! I blogged about my quilt here: http://scrapendipitydesigns.com/blog/?p=970 if you want to see. :)
Cheers!
Rachel
Your quilt is a FANTASTIC color combination! I seriously cannot wait to see that bad boy finished!
