Settling In

December 8, 2011

The last few weeks have been quiet around here. But for good reason! Two weeks ago we moved into our new house! Fourteen months and four addresses later, we are HOME. And it feels gooooood.

[Why, yes. Graham is, in fact, wearing a princess dress in the photo above.]

The shipping container arrived safely from San Diego and emptied quickly.

The last box has been unloaded from the big pod-o-belongings that survived a year in storage.

Our kids are being super helpful.

Even if that means sitting in a special spot while we move boxes in the garage!

There are empty boxes with which to play.

And new places to record our time in this house. The kids are pointing to the “Moving Day!” heights on the growth chart. (Chart found here. Thank you, Pinterest!) And, yes, I totally let Eleanor dress herself.

The sewing studio, on the other hand…. well… it’s a work in progress. I’ve been unpacking the rest of the house have have yet to sew a single stitch, but hopefully that will change this weekend.

We are excited to be here with our belongings all in one place. And just in time for the holidays, too!

Congratulations!! Looks like you have a beautiful home to make some fabulous memories in. What, may I ask, is that wonderful wall color?

Thank you! It is a home we definitely love. There are a couple of different colors. If it’s the studio, it’s Sherwin Williams Festoon Aqua. The wall with the growth chart is Sherwin Williams Unusual Gray. Let me know if it’s not one of those… I have them all in a binder and am happy to pass them along.

yay! i’m so glad you’re finally able to get settled!! and i let my oldest dress herself, too. she’s been doing it since before she was 2, believe it or not! my 2 year old, on the other hand, has no interest in dressing herself. must be a first-born thing. :)

Haha! I’ve decided that if we aren’t going anywhere special that the outfit not matching AT ALL doesn’t really matter. I should totally be documenting the crazy combinations she comes up with, though. Hope you are well!

Bonnie! You are so sweet. We are oh so happy to be back. You need to hop in the car with my mom and come on down one day! Make up an excuse about needing to go to Target or something. Ha!

My Goodness! What a gorgeous house and beautiful family. Congratulations. You are one lucky quilting, sewing mama. I know you will be so, so happy to organize all your stuff in your sewing room.
